"We should give as we would re...(post 2 of 2)<br /><br />"We should give as we would receive, cheerfully, quickly, and without hesitation; for there is no grace in a benefit that sticks to the fingers."<br /><br />"No one has ever become poor by giving." <br /><br />but can you think of anything beautiful to say about living for oneself? or of getting things?<br /><br />the reason you obviously won't find beautiful poems of living for yourself is because it's not love, true love is a selfless thing, it brings joy and peace because when you are thinking of others and forgetting yourself, then who or what can bother you? to love others above yourself, and God above all others, is to worry, not what others do wrong to you, but what harm they cause to their own soul, because after all, what harm can they cause to your soul without your consent? and then you must also think of God more so when others sin in a way that effects you or is even directed against you...remember that whatever sin is done to you, is done to Jesus even more, and whatever pain you have felt by the sins and faults of others, He has felt a thousand times more, because He took on that very sin you are suffering from, and He took it on so that it may be forgiven...this is what you must think of when others do you wrong, you do not suffer alone, because Jesus suffers it too, and more perfectly, because He sees it's true evil and repulsiveness, He suffers it for you and for them...but don't let Jesus suffer alone...this is why we cannot just think of ourselves, forgoing prayer and mass because we think it's what we need right now, meanwhile Jesus sits alone in the tabernacle, missing you, and waiting eagerly and longingly to hear from you, <br />who cares what others think of you or say? as i said before, all that matters is what God thinks of you, and don't you think that perhaps God is allowing these things to happen in order to detach you from your desire for attention? you are taking it the wrong way, God would not allow something bad to happen unless there were some good to come out of it, and i can assure you, the good from what has happened to you is most certainly not missing mass and neglecting prayer.<br /><br />just remember, God will always forgive you if you seek His forgiveness with sincerity and contrition, so don't despair even if you feel like you've gone back to far...nothing is really wasted as long as you can learn from it...<br />but just try to remember what you are, you are a creature of God, you were created to love Him and be loved by Him, there is no other purpose in life than to know love and serve Him, all good vocations in life go towards that goal, all other goals are useless.<br />of course the world seems more appealing now, because you can have it now, although it will never bring you true peace or joy, it will only feed your vices and further enslave you, but when you must leave all this behind, what will you consider, looking back, as your greatest accomplishments for God? <br /><br />well sorry for making this so long, but just one more thing, be patient with you spiritual director, you aren't helping yourself any if you cut ties with him, i'm sure there's some good reason he's not responding right away.<br /><br />alright, hope this helps, you're still in my prayers, take care.Emmynoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3095451809093710123.post-91606617593740491442012-04-15T23:43:46.969-04:002012-04-15T23:43:46.969-04:00(post 1 of 2)
Be careful...the more you gain in t...(post 1 of 2)<br /><br />Be careful...the more you gain in this world, the more you fear in losing those things...it will make things harder in the long run if you let your heart get attached to those worldly things...especially when you want to get on the straight and narrow.<br />i know you're going through alot right now and you're just feeling sick and tired of the drama, but remember that the spiritual life is more interior than exterior, and what others think, say, or do, should have nothing to do with your relationship with God, Jesus needs friends too, we need to think of Him most of all, and it is generally by thinking of ourselves to much that we become miserable...i know i've said these things before, more or less, but i'll say it again, you're are not helping yourself this way.<br /><br />today is Divine Mercy Sunday, the day Our Lord said His mercy is most abundant, and one of the things Jesus revealed to Saint Faustina is, what pleases Him most is when we pray and do penance and work for the salvation and conversion of poor sinners...i thought alot about that today, if we love God, then we want to please Him, and if this is what pleases Him most, then shouldn't it be our daily goal?<br />thinking of ourselves each day(beyond our necessities of course) really profits us nothing, it is only by working for the salvation of souls and by following and working for Christ that we gain anything real for ourselves, this life is so short, like a single thread in eternity, and for to many people, that shortness is only finally realized at the end of their life, when they can't really look back on anything truly profitable to offer to God when they meet Him.<br /><br />i have come to know, through experience and by the example of others, that there is no greater joy in life than in living for God, and no greater misery in life than living for yourself...why? well perhaps i will explain it this way, here are just a small handful of beautiful little poems on giving of yourself -<br /><br />"You have not lived until you have done something for someone who can never repay you."<br /><br />"We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give."<br /><br />"There is a loftier ambition than merely to stand high in the world.
